Antenna Engineer (Athens, Greece)
We are looking for an Antenna Engineer who is enthusiastic about antennas, microwave technologies, and space telecommunications. You’ll be joining a fast-paced, very early-stage environment where your contributions will directly shape our products and the future of the company. If you are passionate about solving complex RF challenges and excited to work on a variety of cutting-edge technologies that enable the next generation of space connectivity, we’d love to meet you. We welcome applications from candidates at all experience levels.
Candidates should be located in Greece. Due to the nature of the work, this position will require on-site work.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, simulation, development and evaluation of Ku-Band and Ka-Band flat panel, electronically scanned phased array antennas.
- Support the team in driving antenna designs from initial requirements definition through to prototype validation, system integration, and final product deployment.
- Conduct advanced RF electromagnetic (EM) simulations using CST and/or HFSS to ensure antenna performance meets technical specifications and mission requirements.
- Contribute to the development and analysis of microwave dielectric lenses, supporting novel antenna architectures and improving beam-shaping capabilities.
- Perform hands-on prototyping, testing, and validation of antenna hardware in laboratory and outdoor environments, including anechoic chamber measurements.
- Stay up-to-date with advances in antenna technology, space telecommunications, and beamforming systems, and bring innovative ideas to the team.
Organizational Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the preparation of technical proposals and statements of work for new projects and funding opportunities.
- Write clear and concise technical documentation for ongoing projects, including design reports, test plans, and validation results.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations for internal reviews, customers, and industry partners.
- Contribute to the drafting and publication of scientific papers, conference proceedings, and patent applications to share technical advancements with the wider community.
- Exhibit good communication skills with external partners, suppliers, and academic institutions where appropriate.
- Be proactive in problem-solving and finding effective solutions.
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment and demonstrate creativity in addressing challenges.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. We are hiring engineers at multiple levels, and a Master’s or PhD with a focus on antennas, RF, or electromagnetics is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of antenna theory, RF propagation, and electromagnetic field principles, particularly in the microwave and millimeter-wave frequency ranges (X, Ku and Ka bands).
- Hands-on experience with EM simulation tools such as CST Studio Suite, Ansys HFSS, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in technical writing and documentation, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Experience in writing or contributing to scientific publications, technical reports, and proposals.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic startup environment and collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- A strong interest in antennas, space telecommunications, and pushing the boundaries of RF technology.
- Familiarity with the design and analysis of phased array antennas and beamforming techniques (desirable).
- Experience or interest in microwave dielectric lens design and their application in antenna systems (desirable).
- Practical knowledge of antenna testing methodologies and equipment (e.g., vector network analyzers, anechoic chamber measurements) (desirable).
- Programming/scripting experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for data analysis, simulation automation, or custom tool development (desirable).
